If we're talking time machines, Bob Marley is a good shout, as is Hendrix, and Syd's Floyd at the UFO. I may, however, fancy a trip tp New Orleans, 80/90 years ago and shake my thang to Louis Armstrong when he was with his Hot 5 Band (or the Hot 7 and the other variations....Louis though, for sure). Only other that gets in with this mob, is Django Rheinhardt in Paris in the mid 30s before the cunting Nazis fucked everything up.

Damn!
I feel ashamed of myself for not saying Tom Waits. Got hooked up on dead folk.
We are desperately trying to convince Tom to come to our gaff in Oslo. We manaed to get Bob Dylan to come this October and do his first ever small gig in Norway, and he built his euro tour arounf that. I'm looking forward to that so much, but I would cancel Dylan if it meant Waits would come.

Well if you ever book Waits let me know! Might be the excuse I need to finally go to Norway.
The guy is virtually impossible to see live.
A true genius, and by all accounts a phenomenal performer.

His tickets sell out before the concerts are even considered.
Apparently, according to a good mate who I have no reason to doubt, Tom Waits often used to play in a little bar or hotel bar or something in the south of Paris near Montparnasse whenever he was in town. Completely unannounced. Some people wouldn't even know who the fuck he was.
Don't know how true that is, but it would suit his style, and he may well have similar bars all round the world.

The Doors and Marvin Gaye are great shouts,I was fortunate enough to see The Jam and Donald Byrd in their prime. I'm gutted I never got to see Bob Marley.
